The visionary behind UL
Ricardo B. Salinas Pliego is a visionary Mexican entrepreneur, founder, and chairman of Grupo Salinas, a dynamic conglomerate operating across financial services, telecommunications, media, and retail. His business vision is rooted in creating both economic and social value, promoting inclusive prosperity and societal well-being.
Passionate about Mexico's social and cultural growth, Salinas Pliego has led impactful initiatives through organizations like Fundación Azteca and the Centro Ricardo B. Salinas Pliego, with a strong focus on education, arts and culture.
Believing that education is the key to freedom and progress, Salinas Pliego recognized the urgent need to rethink traditional education models, which he considers outdated and ineffective. This led to the creation of the Universidad de la Libertad (UL) — an educational hub designed to challenge conventional systems and empower the next generation of entrepreneurial leaders with an innovative mindset and a deep sense of freedom.
